1. Our commitment
MojoDojo is designed to support music education. Because children and young people may use the platform, student safety, privacy and wellbeing must be central to how MojoDojo is used.
MojoDojo expects every teacher, parent, guardian, student and other user to use the platform in a way that is safe, respectful, lawful and appropriate.
2. Purpose of this statement
This statement sets out the safety expectations that apply when MojoDojo is used with students, especially children and young people under 18.
It should be read together with the MojoDojo Terms and Conditions and Privacy Policy.
3. Use must be for music education
MojoDojo must only be used for music teaching, music learning, scheduling, lesson preparation, lesson notes, practice tracking, progress updates, learning materials and appropriate communication connected to music education.
MojoDojo must not be used for personal, inappropriate, exploitative, sexual, discriminatory, abusive, bullying or non-educational contact with students.
4. Teacher conduct
Teachers using MojoDojo must:
- communicate professionally and respectfully;
- keep communication focused on music education;
- use appropriate language;
- respect student privacy;
- obtain parent or guardian consent where required;
- avoid unnecessary collection of student personal information;
- avoid unnecessary private one-on-one digital communication with children where parent visibility is appropriate;
- follow all applicable working with children, child safety, professional conduct, studio, school and legal obligations; and
- report any serious safety concern to appropriate authorities where required.
MojoDojo does not replace a teacher’s own child safety obligations.
5. Parent and guardian involvement
Parents and guardians should be involved in a child’s use of MojoDojo where appropriate.
Parents and guardians may contact MojoDojo or the relevant teacher if they have concerns about:
- account access;
- student information;
- messages;
- uploaded materials;
- recordings;
- consent;
- privacy;
- safety; or
- inappropriate conduct.
6. Student expectations
Students should:
- use MojoDojo only for music learning;
- be respectful to teachers and other users;
- not share private information unnecessarily;
- not upload inappropriate content;
- not share another person’s image, voice, recording or personal information without permission; and
- tell a parent, guardian, teacher or trusted adult if something feels wrong or unsafe.
7. Messaging and communication
Where MojoDojo messaging is used, communication must remain appropriate, respectful and connected to music education.
Teachers should consider whether parents or guardians should be included in communications involving children.
Users must not use MojoDojo to:
- ask a child to keep communications secret;
- encourage a child to move communication to private channels without an appropriate reason and consent where required; or
- communicate with a child in a way that is inappropriate, exploitative or not connected to music education.
MojoDojo may restrict, review, preserve or remove communications where reasonably necessary for safety, security, complaint handling, legal compliance or platform integrity.
8. Images, audio, video and recordings
Music education may involve audio, video, images, performances or practice recordings.
Users must not upload or share recordings, images or videos of a student unless they have appropriate consent.
Where a child is involved, parent or guardian consent should be obtained before uploading or sharing recordings, images or videos.
Users must not download, copy, repost, publish or share student recordings outside MojoDojo unless they have clear permission and a lawful reason to do so.
9. Prohibited behaviour
MojoDojo has no tolerance for use of the platform to:
- groom, exploit, abuse or harm a child;
- send sexual, violent, discriminatory or abusive material;
- bully, harass or intimidate another person;
- request unnecessary personal contact details from a child;
- encourage a child to move communication to private channels without an appropriate reason and consent where required;
- share child images, videos or recordings without permission;
- upload unlawful, harmful or inappropriate content; or
- use the platform for any unlawful purpose.
MojoDojo may suspend or terminate accounts and may report serious concerns to relevant authorities.
10. Reporting concerns
Users should report safety concerns promptly.

For urgent danger, contact emergency services immediately.
In Australia, online safety concerns may also be reported to the eSafety Commissioner where appropriate.
11. Platform response
When MojoDojo receives a safety concern, we may:
- restrict or suspend an account;
- preserve relevant information;
- review account activity;
- contact the relevant teacher, parent or guardian;
- remove content;
- require further information;
- notify authorities where required or appropriate; and
- take steps to protect affected users.
We may act immediately where needed to protect a child, comply with law, preserve evidence or prevent ongoing misuse.
12. Privacy and child safety
MojoDojo will aim to collect only the information reasonably needed to provide the platform.
Student information should not be used for unrelated marketing, advertising, profiling or non-educational purposes.
Parents and guardians may contact MojoDojo about access, correction or deletion of their child’s personal information, subject to legal, safety and operational requirements.
Where safety and privacy obligations overlap, MojoDojo may review, retain or disclose information to the extent reasonably necessary to protect a child, user or the platform, or to comply with law.
13. Shared responsibility
Child safety is a shared responsibility.
MojoDojo provides tools and platform rules, but teachers, parents, guardians and studios must also maintain safe practices, appropriate supervision and compliance with their own legal and professional obligations.
